Over the past decade, the work of Nobuhiro Shimura has mainly developed spatial installation using video projection. His moving images of everyday things captured by the camera have been projected to particular places and to diverse materials as specific screen. Shimura’s superimposed images have transformed the meaning of the space and the object, as well as evoked a memory of the site in which the work has been exhibited. In his latest work, he is investigating the anthropological themes by adopting documentary way to reflect his recent interest in social and cultural concern. His art works have been shown at art exhibitions including ICA Singapore; Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo; and Mori Art Museum, Tokyo.
